In an interview with IGN, Take-Two (the publishers of the Grand Theft Auto series) boss Strauss Zelnick has iterated that the PC launch of the upcoming GTA 6 may not be concurrent with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox series launches.
Zelnick mentioned, "So with [Civilization 7] it's available on console and PC and Switch right away. With regard to others in our lineup, we don't always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms."Â
That has some historical bearing, as the last entry in the Grand Theft Auto series 'GTA V' released more than a year and a half later after the console release. Other Rockstar games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 released a year after its console launch, though not as bad as the release of its predecessor Red Dead Redemption which launched a whole 14 years later on PC after its initial release on console in 2010.
PC players will most certainly have to wait for the game to be available on their platforms, but let's hope its not for too long. GTA 6 is scheduled to be released later this year. You can watch the trailer below for now:
