In a recent financial results release, Nintendo has announced that it has officially crossed the 150m units sale mark for the Nintendo Switch. The Switch was released in March 2017, and it has taken a little under 8 years for it to reach this major milestone.
The Nintendo Switch is the third-most selling console of all time, trailing the Nintendo DS by about 4 million units, and the PlayStation 2 by about 10 million. PS2 is the highest selling console of all-time and most experts agree that it will not be a challenge for the Switch to cross the PS2's 160 millions units mark, and soon.
The Switch's successor, the aptly titled 'Switch 2' is scheduled to be released later this year, and a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2 2025 that will contain more information about the upcoming console. For the time being, you can take a look at the Switch 2 announement trailer below:
